**Job Title:** Corporate Social Responsibility Officer

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate Social Responsibility Officer to join our team at Empire Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving positive social impact and environmental sustainability within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Sustainability Initiatives: Oversee the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy conservation, and carbon footprint reduction efforts.
  • Monitor Compliance: Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and permits, ensuring adherence to standards and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into product design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain operations.
  • Lead Community Engagement Programmes: Lead the planning and execution of community engagement programmes, including partnerships with nonprofit organisations, volunteer activities, and employee giving campaigns.
  • Establish Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders and external partners to ensure effective collaboration and maximum impact of corporate citizenship initiatives.
  • Monitor and Report Performance: Monitor and report on the company's corporate citizenship performance, including metrics related to social, environmental, and economic impact.
  • Stay Updated: Stay updated and monitor emerging environmental trends, technologies, and best practices to inform strategic decision-making and innovation.
  • Drive Employee Awareness: Drive employee awareness and engagement through environmental education and training initiatives, fostering a culture of sustainability throughout the organisation.
  • Coordinate Enterprise Development: Coordinate the company's initiatives related to Enterprise Development and Social Economic Development under the BBBEE codes.
  • Integrate Corporate Citizenship: Coordinate with internal teams to integrate corporate citizenship considerations into various business processes, such as procurement, marketing, and HR.
  • Advocate and Spokesperson: Act as an advocate and spokesperson for the organisation's corporate citizenship initiatives, both internally and externally, to enhance brand reputation and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong Understanding: Strong understanding of corporate social responsibility principles, sustainable development goals, and relevant local and global regulations.
  • Excellent Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Exceptional Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and inspire stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical Mindset: Analytical mindset with the ability to collect and interpret data to measure the impact of corporate citizenship and identify areas for improvement.
  • Detail-Oriented: Detail-oriented approach to ensure compliance with corporate citizenship standards and reporting requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with sustainability reporting tools is preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and community engagement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in corporate citizenship, sustainability, or related fields, with a focus on strategic planning, programme management, and stakeholder engagement.
