Teaching Piano at Undergraduate and Postgraduate Levels

This position involves creating, developing, and facilitating the acquisition of musical knowledge and skills by individuals to enable them to function effectively within the music profession and as productive members of society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To teach piano on various levels at undergraduate and postgraduate level, equipping students with in-depth knowledge and practical skills.
  • To provide accompaniment for students and staff, supporting their academic growth and development.
  • To conduct research and produce creative outputs, such as publications and performances, showcasing expertise and innovation.
  • To facilitate community engagement, promoting the value of music education and collaboration.
  • To serve as a collaborative pianist for student, guest, and faculty recitals, fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity.
  • To contribute to piano studio recruitment, identifying and attracting talented musicians.
  • To supervise postgraduate students, guiding them towards academic success and professional growth.

Core Competencies:

  • National recognition as a performer, with a strong reputation in the music industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of piano pedagogies and the application of teaching piano repertoire primarily within the Western classical canon.
  • Demonstrable experience in facilitating learning at undergraduate level, with a proven track record of student success.
  • Chamber music experience, enabling effective collaboration and communication.
  • Ability to produce publications or creative outputs, and supervise postgraduate candidates, driving academic and artistic growth.

Requirements:

Candidates should possess a relevant Master's degree and 2 years of relevant work experience, with supervision experience and/or DMus or PhD being advantageous. Shortlisted candidates will be required to conduct an audition and/or demonstration lesson/lecture.

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. HR Genie offers a competitive package, including benefits and opportunities for growth and development.
