Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Transactions: Record and process day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments using accounting software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies, ensuring the integrity of our financial records.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including posting journal entries and adjustments as required, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll processing, including calculations, deductions, and statutory submissions, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and other statutory requirements, and maintain accurate records.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and reconcile vehicle inventory records, including physical stock counts and adjustments, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Audit Assistance: Prepare schedules and assist during internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Ad hoc Tasks: Support management with ad hoc financial tasks and projects as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Must have Grade 12.
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role in the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
