Responsibilities and Duties

  • Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform audits efficiently.
  • Client Management: Develop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Technical Review: Review financial statements and working papers to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Planning & Project Management: Plan and manage audit projects, including coordinating with clients and stakeholders.
  • Quality Control: Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of auditing.
  • Business Development: Participate in business development initiatives to expand our client base and services offered.
  • Training and Mentorship: Mentor junior staff members, providing training and guidance on auditing best practices.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
  • Completed articles and registered as a Professional Accountant (SA), Associate General Accountant (AGA), or ACCA member.
  • Minimum 3-5 years post-article experience in auditing and accounting.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring accounting/audit teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SMEs and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Experience with CaseWare, Xero, and Sage One accounting software.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
