Job Title: Tax Director - Global Tax Strategy

About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Director to lead our global tax strategy, driving innovation and excellence in tax planning, compliance, and risk management. This is a critical role that will shape the future of our tax function and ensure we remain competitive in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Tax Strategy: Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive tax strategy that aligns with our business objectives and minimizes tax liabilities.
  • Lead Global Tax Team: Manage and motivate a high-performing team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to excel.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all tax obligations are met and risks are mitigated through effective compliance processes, risk assessments, and controls.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including finance, accounting, and legal teams, as well as external stakeholders, such as tax authorities and advisors.
  • Technology and Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to leverage technology and improve processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance tax reporting.
  • Transfer Pricing and BEPS: Develop and implement transfer pricing strategies and manage BEPS risks to ensure compliance with international regulations.
  • Communications and Reporting: Prepare and present regular tax reports to senior leadership and the board, ensuring transparency and accountability for tax matters.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate Tax Degree: A postgraduate degree in taxation or a related field is required.
  • 16+ Years of Experience: A minimum of 16 years of experience in tax, preferably in a leadership role, with a strong understanding of global tax laws and regulations.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing high-performing teams and developing talent.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex tax issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of R2,500,000 - R3,500,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and a performance-based bonus structure.
