Responsibilities and Expectations

The Lead Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Managing the financial performance of a selected business unit.
  • Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial records.
  • Providing oversight to accountants in their team.
  • Preparing accurate and complete general ledger accounts with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Implementing and maintaining proper financial systems and controls.
  • Authorizing journals and approving reconciliations done by financial accountants.
  • Ensuring accurate, complete, and up-to-date fixed asset registers.
  • Responding to queries, information, explanations, and assistance as required.

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in accounting, preferably holding a CIMA, CA, or B.Comm Hons degree, and at least 5-7 years of total experience, with 2-3 years of relevant financial accounting experience, preferably in the FMCG industry.
