We are seeking a dynamic Senior Accountant to manage the accounting function of four top-calibre restaurants in our client's portfolio. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and managing weekly supplier payments\
  • Reviewing and managing credit applications\
  • Managing and overseeing monthly supplier balance testing\
  • Managing weekly bank statement capturing and reconciling\
  • Reviewing and managing all cash accounts weekly\
  • Ensuring monthly cash reconciliations and cash counts are received\
  • Managing monthly entering of loan account movements and updating on audit schedules\
  • Overseeing monthly updating of FAR\
  • Preparing and managing reconciliation of CWIP account\
  • Managing posting of monthly depreciation and inventory journals\
  • Managing and obtaining paperwork for staff loans paid via EFT or petty cash\
  • Ensuring deductions from payroll take place related to HR documentation\
  • Managing posting of monthly salary and wage journals\
  • Managing bi-weekly reconciliation of tips control account\
  • Managing monthly reconciliation of payroll control accounts\
  • Managing and overseeing sponsorship of income invoicing\

Requirements

  • A BCom degree in Accounting or similar qualification is essential\
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience as an accountant in the restaurant industry/hospitality sector is required\
  • Knowledge and experience with Micros POS are non-negotiable\
