We are seeking an experienced Sustainability and Corporate Citizenship Manager to join our team at Empire Recruitment. This is a unique opportunity to drive positive social impact and environmental sustainability in a dynamic organization.

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement sustainability initiatives that reduce waste, energy consumption, and carbon footprint.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental regulations and permits, ensuring adherence to standards and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into product design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain operations.
  • Lead community engagement programs, including partnerships with nonprofit organizations, volunteer activities, and employee giving campaigns.
  • Establish relationships with key community stakeholders and external partners to ensure effective collaboration and maximum impact of corporate citizenship initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on corporate citizenship performance, including metrics related to social, environmental, and economic impact.
  • Stay updated on emerging environmental trends, technologies, and best practices to inform strategic decision-making and innovation.
  • Foster a culture of sustainability through environmental education and training initiatives.
  • Coordinate Enterprise Development and Social Economic Development initiatives under the BBBEE codes.
  • Integrate corporate citizenship considerations into various business processes, such as procurement, marketing, and HR.
  • Act as an advocate and spokesperson for the organisation's corporate citizenship initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of corporate social responsibility principles, sustainable development goals, and relevant local and global regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset to collect and interpret data to measure the impact of corporate citizenship.
  • Detail-oriented approach to ensure compliance with corporate citizenship standards and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with sustainability reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and community engagement.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate citizenship, sustainability, or related fields, with a focus on strategic planning, programme management, and stakeholder engagement.
