About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead our Data Centres South Africa team and oversee all mechanical engineering aspects of Data Centre building design projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership on projects and manage the mechanical work packages in multiple projects.
  • Identify scope, design, and management objectives and deliver project documentation to ensure quality and flow of information.
  • Produce design calculations, sketch drawings, and details of drawings using relevant software.
  • Write technical specifications and reports, and assist the project manager in preparing/reviewing project costs and risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships, review contractor pre-qualifications, and prepare tender evaluation summaries.
  • Represent RHDHV on factory acceptance tests and site testing & commissioning activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor and/or master's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • At least 8 – 10+ years relevant industrial building working experience in mechanical engineering design and installation in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Professional registration with ECSA as a PrEng is required.
  • Good knowledge of standard practices in the design and construction industry.
  • Good understanding of the daily (operational) business of our clients.
  • An entrepreneurial, proactive, and flexible attitude.
  • Result-oriented and have a proactive problem-solving attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills towards colleagues and clients.
