Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Strategist to join our team at Communicate Recruitment. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional to lead the development and implementation of financial strategies across the group.

About the Role
As a Senior Financial Strategist, you will be responsible for setting the financial strategy and plans relating to all financial functions across the group. You will partner with the CFO and other executives to set objectives and targets, monitor adherence to strategy and KPIs for the financial functions and financial managers across the group. Additionally, you will guide and prepare consolidated budgets (operational and capital), ensuring compliance with JSE listing requirements and adhering to reporting deadlines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure adequate financial control of the business.
  • Investigate and analyze errors and exceptions.
  • Manage the external and internal audit process.
  • Staff management.
  • Statutory interim and annual reporting.
  • Review of financial information in SENS announcements.
  • Cost benchmarking exercises and insights.
  • Responsibility of the maintenance of long-term business plans and financial forecasting models.
  • Oversight and control over bank transfers.
  • Engagement with banks and funders to effectively manage cash flow.
  • Compliance with tax act and regulations.
  • Review tax calculations and submission of tax returns.
  • Liaise with SARS regarding tax disputes.
  • Review monthly VAT calculations and submissions.
  • Management of the share incentive scheme.
  • Regular analysis of financial sustainability and growth requirements across the group.


Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a CA(SA) qualification and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
