Job Title: Plant Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Staff Solutions Recruitment.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance is carried out according to schedules for both mechanical and electrical equipment. This includes frequently checking stock levels for all spares/materials and ordering in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will also assist the Maintenance Manager in periodic trend analysis of breakdowns and expenditure with recommendations for continual improvement. Involvement in daily emergencies and urgent work requests is also required.

In this role, you will be expected to complete basic preventative maintenance, ensure 5S System and safe working standards are adhered to at all times, and keep the Maintenance Manager informed of abnormal or critical situations.

You will also be responsible for ensuring maintenance procedures and documentation comply with relevant Quality Assurance standards and Safety Standards.

This includes electrical installations and PLCs, mechanical installations, general buildings, and all utilities. Compliance with OHS Act Regulations and other Legislation is essential.

The successful candidate will also involve themselves with new projects, accurately carry out maintenance schedules for production machinery and services (Electrical and Mechanical), and perform lubrication schedules.

All work must be performed safely according to all safety regulations, with speedily rectifying breakdowns and after-hours call-outs a priority.

Weekly shift and standby duty will be performed as per requirements, and adherence to Company HSEE policy is necessary.

Working overtime when required as agreed by Plant Engineer is also a requirement of this role.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess a N4 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Trade Tested or similar qualification. Qualified Millwright is an added advantage, as is experience on Injection Molding Machines (Engel).

A minimum of 5 years' experience in a factory maintenance environment is required, with computer literacy being a must. Ability to learn fast and be independent is also essential.

Excellent leadership and organizational skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, are necessary for success in this role. Experience in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems is preferred.

Salary:

The salary for this role is estimated to be between R350,000 - R450,000 per annum, depending on experience.
