The ideal candidate will be a seasoned business leader with extensive experience in the motor industry, particularly in vehicle retail, sales, and service. They should possess strong analytical skills, financial management expertise, and excellent leadership abilities.

About the Role

As a Dealer Principal, you will be responsible for formulating tactical strategies and delivery plans for the dealership, ensuring operational integration and achieving maximum efficiency and profitability. You will lead a strong dealership team, driving growth and customer satisfaction through extensive marketing, networking, and customer care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tactical Planning: Develop strategies to enhance dealership revenue, profitability, and market share.
  • Operational Management: Implement people capacity plans aligned with performance objectives and budgets.
  • Financial Performance**: Achieve and exceed financial targets as agreed.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Manage cross-functional areas effectively to optimize operations.
  • Compliance and Governance**: Ensure compliance with legal requirements and OEM guidelines.
  • Financial Asset Management**: Oversee the dealership's financial assets, including cash flow, stock, and debtors.
  • Staff Leadership**: Lead and manage staff to attract and retain high-quality employees.
  • Customer Acquisition and Retention: Focus on customer acquisition and retention through customer-centric initiatives.
  • Market Analysis: Analyse market trends and competitor intelligence to inform strategies.
  • Employee Productivity: Foster a positive work environment that maximizes employee productivity.

Requirements

  • Education**: Matric (Grade 12) required, B Com or other relevant tertiary business/commercial qualifications preferred.
  • Experience**: ± 7+ years in the motor industry with exposure to various business disciplines, ± 5+ years in vehicle retail – new and pre-owned sales, ± 3+ years - Dealer Operations Management.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Experience in retail, sales, and service, marketing experience, and proficiency in computer and financial management systems.
