Senior Finance Executive Job Description

At HR Genie, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Executive to join our team in Durban. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with IFRS standards.
  • Financial Risk Management: Identify and effectively manage financial risks through the implementation and monitoring of appropriate accounting procedures.
  • Financial Governance: Ensure the effective management of our core finances, including the preparation of financial reports and the implementation of sound internal controls.
  • Financial Planning: Collaborate with our Directors to prepare the organisation's consolidated annual budget and half-year review and forecast.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for submission to our Directors, executive management team, and non-resident Board of Directors.
  • Audit Preparation: Undertake audit preparations to ensure an efficient, effective, and successful audit process.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant SARS registrations and requirements, as well as CIPC registrations and filing requirements.
  • Cash Flow Management: Effectively manage all cash flows to meet the organisation's needs.
  • Relationship Management: Liaise and manage our existing relationship with our bankers.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: B.Com in Financial Accounting or Financial Management, completed articles with an accredited audit firm, and membership with either SAICA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' work experience in a core finance environment and minimum of 3 years' management experience (people and/or otherwise).
  • Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, advanced capability to do various financial modelling, excellent interpersonal skills, strong planning and organisation skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to establish and maintain sound relationships with key stakeholders.
