Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head Office Accountant to join our team at Network Recruitment. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our business, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Rental Management: Oversee the financial management of 45 to 50 properties, including preparation of rental income, expense tracking, and cash flow analysis.
  • Payment Coordination: Coordinate with property owners and tenants to prepare and process payment schedules, ensuring timely receipt of funds.
  • Invoicing and Accounts Processing: Generate accurate and detailed invoices for property owners and tenants, while maintaining up-to-date records of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconciliations: Conduct regular reconciliations of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Rent Roll Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of all properties under management, including rental income, expenses, and vacancies.

Requirements
  • Certified Accountant (CA(SA)): This qualification is essential for the successful candidate, demonstrating a high level of expertise in accounting principles and practices.
  • Completed SAICA Articles: The successful candidate must have completed their articles with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), showcasing their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience working with clients in the property industry is highly desirable, enabling the candidate to understand the unique challenges and requirements of this sector.
  • Excel Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for data analysis, budgeting, and financial modeling, as well as creation of reports and visualizations.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Software: Familiarity with CaseWare or Pastel Sage Evolution will be advantageous, as it provides a comprehensive accounting solution for small to medium-sized businesses.
  • Time Management: The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, enabling the candidate to collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
