Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Planning: Collaborate with architects and designers to create new building additions or renovations to existing structures, ensuring that they meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
  • Load Calculations and Stress Analysis: Utilize advanced mathematical formulas, modeling software, and analysis techniques to calculate the loads, stresses, and other engineering requirements of the structure.
  • Material Selection and Inspection: Recommend the best materials for each project, taking into account factors such as safety, sustainability, cost, and usage requirements. Inspect buildings, particularly unsafe or deteriorating structures, and provide advice on how to enhance or restore their integrity.
  • Drawings and Models: Create technical drawings, specifications, and computer models for construction contractors to follow.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all projects comply with local and international building codes, regulations, and obtain all necessary permits and approvals.
  • Construction Supervision: Oversee the construction process to ensure that the structure is built according to design specifications, using appropriate materials, and following best practices for safety and sustainability.

Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, strong problem-solving ability, leadership and project management experience, and proficiency in structural design software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, or equivalent.
