Job Title: Ranger Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Guard Monitor to join our team at South African National Parks. This is a six-month fixed-term contract position that offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Protecting contractors and maintenance teams while ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Enforcing laws, maintaining order, and promoting discipline through NEMA protocols.
  • Maintaining accurate records of incidents or sightings.
  • Conducting routine patrols by foot or vehicle to ensure the security and integrity of our parks.
  • Assisting with conservation-related activities and supporting the overall mission of South African National Parks.

Requirements:

  • A valid Grade 12 certificate is essential for this role.
  • Candidates must possess a valid Regulation 79 or 21 firearm competency certificate, as well as a SAPS clearance certificate.
  • A Basic Field Ranger course completion is required.
  • A Medical Certificate of Fitness is also necessary.
  • Applicants should have a basic understanding of health and safety principles, preferably with experience in field ranger duties.
  • Prior experience in extended patrols under challenging conditions is desirable.
  • Excellent physical fitness and a passion for conservation and people are mandatory.

Salary: R450,000 - R550,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience).
