We are seeking a highly skilled Chef de Partie Pastry to join our team at Crew Life at Sea. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of pastries and desserts, collaborating with the Executive Pastry Chef to develop new menu items, and ensuring that all pastries meet the highest quality and visual standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present a variety of pastries and desserts, including cakes, tarts, pastries, and other sweet treats, according to established recipes and standards.
- Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef to develop new menu items and specials.
- Maintain high-quality and visually appealing presentation of pastries.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of pastry ingredients and supplies.
- Train and supervise junior pastry team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry station, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and hygiene.
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed, including food preparation and plating.
- Travel to different cruise ship locations as required, maintaining high standards of quality and service at all times.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-volume, upscale dining establishment.
- Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and flavor combinations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to travel and work on different cruise ships for extended periods of time.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
