About the Role

This position is responsible for providing expert legal advice and guidance on various aspects of our business, including asset management, contracts, and regulatory matters. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Analyzing property titles and documentation to assess the feasibility of installing telecommunication towers;
  2. Preparing risk assessments regarding property title, mortgage bonds, servitudes, and contract validity;
  3. Certifying property titles;
  4. Researching and analyzing applicable laws, statutes, and legal precedents to form legal opinions and documentation;
  5. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal contracts and agreements;
  6. Attending to general asset/real estate management matters;
  7. Registering properties and contracts at the Deeds Registry of South Africa;
  8. Preparing and coordinating corporate and regulatory filings;
  9. Maintaining corporate records;
  10. Preparing legal letters, memorandums, and reports;
  11. Coordinating projects to improve internal in-country legal processes;
  12. Resolving issues related to ground leases and permits;
  13. General litigation control, including updating litigation trackers and managing deadlines;
  14. Assisting in implementing policies relating to diligence and regulatory compliance;
  15. Supporting the Asset Optimization department in market activities (purchases, extensions, amendments, and abatements);
  16. Providing general legal advice and resolving routine legal and real estate issues;
  17. Performing legal due diligence for Merger and Acquisition transactions and sale leaseback deals.
