Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at RMG Recruitment (Pty) Ltd. As an Assistant Metrologist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our measurement processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Measurement Programs: Create and maintain measurement programs for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
  • Provide Quality Feedback: Offer constructive feedback to relevant departments on dimensional deviations or defects, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Document Control: Prepare and maintain APQP/PPAP/ISIR documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in FMEA and Control Plan Meetings: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential quality issues.
  • Support Routine Testing and Product Audits: Assist in conducting routine testing and product audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Calibration and Maintenance: Maintain calibration status of all existing gauges and instruments, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Investigations and Root Cause Analysis: Assist in conducting investigations into product defects or non-conformities, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of measurement results, calibration status, and other relevant documentation.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Quality Assurance (NQF Level 6 Essential), or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of work experience in a factory environment, with thorough knowledge of plant processes and quality standards.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Education: Minimum Matric with Maths and Science, with quality-specific training in VDA6.3, IATF16949, Core Tools, and CSR's.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of CMM Measuring Equipment: Essential for this role.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and MiniTab.
  • Valid Driver's License: Required for this role.
