We are seeking a seasoned Senior Front-End Developer to join our fast-paced tech company in Cape Town and contribute to the development of innovative business tools.

About the Job:

  • As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and refining new and existing user interfaces, working closely with the UX/UI team to create a seamless user experience.
  • You will also assist in refining product APIs, providing input into product direction with new front-end technologies and strategy, and promoting the adoption of best practices within the team.
  • In this role, you will work on a productised solution that is established in the market, looking to further enhance its interfaces and offering.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with RESTful JSON APIs, AJAX/XHR requests, NodeJS with NPM, React 16, Bootstrap 4, GatsbyJS, GIT version control, and Semantic Versioning (SEMVER).
  • Strong experience in working on a productised software solution, creating and maintaining documentation, and contributing to implementation plans and rollouts.
  • Able to recommend improvements to development processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
  • Good understanding of object-oriented programming principles, database design, implementation, and management, including PHP 7+, Composer, MySQL, and database schema design experience.
  • Familiarity with caching, Webpack, Bash, and terminal (command line) tools.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in front-end development, with a strong focus on JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive web design.
  • Experience working with Single Page Applications and productised software solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using modern front-end frameworks, libraries, and tools.
