Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our team at Work Africa in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the achievement of branch performance imperatives across all business areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setting targets across different revenue streams and ensuring organizational alignment to achieve said targets
  • Resource allocation and supporting relevant staff in achieving departmental performance imperatives
  • Fostering effective supplier and other third-party relationships
  • Maintaining administrative processes and procedures, and ensuring relevant authorizations are in check

Requirements:

  • Technical qualification, people management, financial management, or marketing and sales certifications (advantageous)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in people management, sales and parts management, general management, and technical knowledge (forklift, operations, and maintenance)
  • Administratively strong with financial interpretation aptitude
  • High level of problem-solving ability
  • 3 years workshop, parts, or well-rounded electrical, mechanical, parts, and hydraulic experience (advantageous)

Key Performance Areas (KPA's):

  • Ensure achievement of targets in line with budget requirements: manage daily sales, including rental, parts, and service targets vs actual performance, reacting timeously to any identified problems
  • Manage and facilitate work in progress: manage and facilitate all work in progress (WIP) by continuously monitoring the status of ongoing tasks, ie open jobs, accurate processing of warranty claims to ensure claim fitness etc
  • Branch management: continuously monitor and analyze branch financial performance, revenue, expense, and optimize profitability. Implement cost-effective strategies and identify and address any deviations promptly
  • Effective staff management: ensure effective staff training, mentoring, coaching, and management of staff within the branch
  • Customer relationship management: build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. Address customer concerns and inquiries promptly, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the area

Salary: Negotiable based on experience, but estimated around R600,000 per annum, plus benefits.
