Accounting Clerk Job Description

Affinity Services is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to support our financial operations. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, and assisting with various accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Assist in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely payment and receipt of funds.
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting department, including data entry, filing, and other tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in accounting or finance is a plus.
  • Previous experience in an accounting or clerical role is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, with a focus on maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and respond to inquiries from auditors.
  • A willingness to learn and grow within the accounting field, with a focus on professional development and continuous improvement.
