Job Overview

About the Role

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with company and legal regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the payroll team, monitoring staff appointments, transfers, promotions, and terminations, and overseeing payroll payments and account reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the payroll team to guarantee efficient and accurate payroll processing.
  • Monitor staff appointments, transfers, promotions, and terminations to maintain accurate personnel records.
  • Oversee and review payroll payments and account reconciliations to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate with HR and accounting departments to verify employee data and accounts.
  • Maintain accurate account balances and detailed records for auditing purposes.
  • Monitor payroll team performance and provide training to new staff members.
  • Manage and resolve any issues related to payroll.
  • Prepare payroll reports requested by management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in payroll processing and a good understanding of accounting principles.
  • Managerial or supervisory experience in a similar field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and payroll software such as Sage 300.
  • A strong knowledge of payroll processes and relevant legal regulations.
Benefits and Salary

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of R280,000 - R350,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical aid, retirement fund contributions, and paid annual leave.
