A key opportunity for a seasoned Financial Analyst/Cost Accountant is available at CA Financial Appointments. This project-based temporary six-month contract involves optimising the client's cost structure by increasing the variable cost base and reducing the fixed components of the Cost of Doing Business (CoDB).

Responsibilities:

  • Cost Analysis: Analyse the current fixed and variable costs of the business.
  • Cost Modelling: Identify key fixed costs that can be shifted to a variable model.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with finance and operations teams to understand cost drivers.
  • Risk Assessment: Assess potential risks of transitioning to a more variable cost structure.
  • Cost Allocation: Develop and assist with the implementation of cost allocation methods.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to financial processes and systems.
  • Performance Tracking: Set up KPIs to track the effectiveness of cost optimisation efforts.
  • Financial Monitoring: Monitor financial performance ensuring intended cost savings.
  • Reporting: Present findings and progress reports on cost optimisation efforts to executive management.
  • Training: Provide training and support to other team members on cost accounting principles and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified CA(SA) / CIMA.
  • Experience: At least 10+ years of experience in a similar position.
  • Project Management: Project Management experience.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial acumen and excellent understanding of cost structures and analysis within retail, supply chain, IT and support centre costs.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Tax Knowledge: Tax knowledge of accounting implications would be advantageous.
  • VAS Knowledge: Understanding of VAS, Money transfers, Bill payments and Insurance as revenue streams would be advantageous.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in financial software, MS Office, MS Excel and ERP systems.
