Job Description

As the Chief Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective compliance strategies, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and regulations, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs across various departments.
  • Provide expert advice on corporate law, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior management to ensure alignment with company objectives and goals.
  • Lead audits and investigations to identify areas for improvement and develop corrective actions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a postgraduate degree or NQF level 8 qualification in Law/Legal Qualification, Admission as an Attorney or Advocate, and at least 5-7 years experience in a legal advisory level/role.

  • Strong understanding of corporate law, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act and other relevant legislation.
  • A very good understanding of the relationships between the company and its shareholder and strategic external stakeholders.
  • Interpretation of statutory requirements and guidelines.
  • Good working knowledge of project and programme management.
  • Good working knowledge of strategy and operational planning.
  • Excellent lobbying skills and ability to communicate across the various levels of government.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from R1,200,000 to R1,800,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical aid, retirement fund, and annual leave.
