Job Description:

Newrest is a global Multi-Sector Catering Company with 40,000 employees in 54 countries. The company seeks an experienced Chief Financial Strategy Officer to join their team in Johannesburg, South Africa.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled finance professional who can lead our financial operations and ensure seamless financial management. As a Chief Financial Strategy Officer, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in auditing and at least 4-6 years of experience in a similar role. You will be required to provide accurate financial information, prepare budgets, forecast revenue and expenses, manage cash flow, and develop financial strategies that align with the company's goals.

You will also be responsible for managing the finance team, developing and implementing financial policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Your expertise in taxation, risk management, and governance will be invaluable in maintaining the company's financial stability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Financial Management:
  • Manage and oversee the finance team, including staff mentoring and development.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and journals.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks associated with business operations.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize exposure.
  • Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
Requirements:

To be successful as a Chief Financial Strategy Officer, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • B Com degree
  • Cegid Accounting certification
  • Leadership Development Programme completion
  • Experience:
  • At least 4-6 years of auditing experience
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Organizational and leadership abilities
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
Salary:

The salary range for this position is R1,200,000 - R1,500,000 per annum, depending on experience.
