Job Title: Trauma Unit Manager: Trauma
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trauma Unit Manager to join our team at VENCORP PLACEMENTS. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the trauma unit, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage staff according to the Basic Conditions of Employment and the Disciplinary Code, staff-planning and Recruitment and Selection of staff
* Manage the day-to-day problem-solving, including stock control
* Conduct regular inspections
* Maintain infection control strategies and procedures of the hospital
* Maintain health and safety principles
* Maintain and apply the required discipline
* Evaluate, intervene, and resolve patient complaints and queries
* Evaluate and monitor nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomes
* Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care
* Promote the health and well-being of patients and employees
* Ensure the principles of infection prevention and all international standard precautions are adhered to
* Implement group quality initiatives
* Liaise with public liability regarding all incidents of potential risk to the business
Requirements:
* A relevant nursing qualification (B Cur Degree/ or relevant management qualification)
* Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
* Post-Basic Diploma or equivalent qualification in Trauma
* Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Unit Manager/shift leader in Trauma
* Compulsory BLS certification
* Advanced Computer Literacy
* Knowledge and experience in Kronos will be beneficial
* Flexible in working hours/shifts
