Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Headhunters.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Quality Assurance professional to take on a challenging role that involves creating measuring programs, providing effective feedback, and preparing documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create Measuring Programs: Develop accurate and efficient measurement plans for new and existing products.
  • Provide Effective Feedback: Communicate dimensional deviations and defects to relevant departments, ensuring prompt action is taken.
  • Prepare Documentation: Create APQP/PPAP/ISIR documents according to customer requirements.
  • Participate in Problem-Solving Activities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Conduct Routine Testing and Audits: Perform regular product audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Lead Gauging Designs: Design and approve gauges, as well as create work instructions for their use.
  • Maintain Calibration Status: Ensure all gauges and instruments are calibrated and verified according to works instructions.
  • Manage External Calibration Processes: Coordinate calibration activities with external vendors.
  • Draft MSA Plans: Develop Measurement System Analysis (MSA) plans to optimize measurement accuracy.
  • Conduct Capability Studies: Perform ad-hoc measurements and lead investigations into non-conforming products.
Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering or quality assurance.
  • Certificate in CMM measuring or 3D scanning.
  • Quality-specific training in VDA6.3, IATF16949, Core Tools, and CSRs.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a factory environment.
  • Proficiency in PC-DMIS CMM Software.
  • Familiarity with SPC/MSA/APQP/8D concepts.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, MiniTab, 3D Scanning).
Estimated Salary

R600,000 - R800,000 per annum, depending on experience.
