We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at LINKFIELDS INNOVATIONS (PTY) LTD. This role requires a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing complex data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Architecture Design: Develop and maintain an optimal data architecture blueprint that supports our organization's business needs, scalability, and performance requirements.
  • Data Modeling: Design and implement logical and physical data models that translate business requirements into data solutions, ensuring data models are scalable, flexible, and adhere to best practices.
  • Data Integration: Oversee the integration of data from various sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity throughout the process. Design and implement ETL processes as needed.
  • Database Management: Manage and optimize database systems (SQL, NoSQL, etc.) to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and performance. Implement security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Establish data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, privacy, and regulatory compliance. Work with legal and compliance teams to adhere to relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements, provide guidance, and support data-related initiatives.
  • Documentation and Training: Document data architecture designs, standards, and processes. Provide training and support to internal teams on data-related tools and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Years of experience in data architecture, database design, and data management.
  • Strong expertise in data modeling techniques, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with data integration tools and technologies (e.g., ETL, ELT).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with data governance, compliance, and security practices is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional) are desirable.
