We are seeking a highly skilled Greenhouse Vegetable Production Specialist to join our team at Farm Manager SA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agronomy and horticulture, with hands-on experience in growing vegetables in greenhouses.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Agronomic and Horticultural Expertise: Provide expert advice on crop selection, soil preparation, and irrigation management to ensure optimal vegetable production.
  • Nursery Management: Oversee the daily operations of the greenhouse nursery, including crop monitoring, pruning, and pest management.
  • Technical Sales: Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors to source high-quality inputs and materials.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of greenhouse staff to achieve high levels of productivity and quality.

Requirements:

  • BSc Agric (Agronomy/Horticulture) or relevant degree in Agriculture/Soil Science.
  • Hands-on experience with growing vegetables in greenhouses.
  • Previous nursery management experience an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of horticulture crops and experience analyzing trial data.
  • Technical sales experience.
  • Computer literate.
  • Maintenance orientated.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Valid passport.
