Job Title: Security Operations Manager

At Bidvest Protea Coin, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Operations Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our security operations and ensuring the highest level of service delivery to our clients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Render a comprehensive proactive security service to our clients.
  • Liaise with clients, regional clients, and handle all internal and external security queries.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and retention through effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Sustain growth and profitability by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
  • Increase and sustain the performance and productivity of all staff through coaching, mentoring, and training.
  • Manage sub-contractors and sub-divisions, ensuring effective planning and execution of security operations.
  • Deliver effective team management, financial management, and personnel management to ensure the smooth operation of our security services.
  • Carry out dynamic security and safety risk assessments to identify potential threats and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain effective relationships with client staff, management, and contractors to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide reports and recommendations for process improvements to enhance our security services.
  • Act as a focal point for security operations decision-making during routine and emergency situations.
  • Adhere to compliance standards and relevant laws to ensure the integrity of our security services.
  • Align with all security service providers to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance to the company's disciplinary code and ensure that all company SOPs are followed.
  • Ensure training takes place as and when required to maintain the highest level of skill and knowledge among our staff.
Preferred Qualifications/Attributes/Skills:
  • PSRA certification Grade A.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years operational management experience/exposure.
  • Good Labour Relations skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Bilingual (English and any other South African language).
  • Good interpersonal and customer relations.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Willing to work extensive hours as and when required.
  • Willing to work after hours and be on standby.
  • Clean disciplinary, criminal, and credit record.
  • Code 08 Driver's license and own reliable transport.
  • Experience of implementing Quality Management Standards.
  • The ability to manage and deliver projects, draft and implement policies, and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of working with control room systems.
  • Analytical and quality-focused able to produce accurate management information.
  • Excellent presentation and IT skills are required.
  • Target and KPI-focused yet able to deliver while maintaining employee engagement.
  • Excellent people and performance management skills: motivate, coach, develop, inspire, and ability to identify training needs.
  • Firearm competency in all three firearms.
