Duties & Responsibilities
  • This role involves purchasing goods, materials, and services from suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the procurement function and other departments to resolve supply chain issues.
  • They will prepare reports and updates as required, providing information on project progress and component due dates.
  • Continuous feedback will be provided to the Procurement Manager regarding project progress and component due dates.
  • The incumbent will ensure accuracy in checking against buying lists and supplier quotes, and signing off orders within authorized limits.
  • Achieving appropriate lead times is a key objective.
  • This role involves identifying and addressing purchasing problems or discrepancies.
  • Maintaining discipline regarding timekeeping, work ethics, and standards is essential.
  • Preparing and raising purchase orders is another key duty.
  • BUILDING AND MAINTAINING SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS AND COMMUNICATIONS IS CRUCIAL FOR THIS ROLE.
  • Ensuring compliance with company guidelines and procedures during supplier negotiations is vital.
  • Contacting suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues is also essential.
  • Maintaining accurate records and monitoring and advising on issues that present risk or opportunity to the organization is a critical responsibility.
