About the Role:
Armstrong Appointments is seeking an experienced Professional Cost Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, in collaboration with architects and clients.
- Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work, providing accurate and detailed reports.
- Assisting in establishing client requirements and undertaking feasibility studies to inform project decisions.
- Performing risk, value management, and cost control to ensure project deliverables are met within budget and schedule.
- Advising on legal, contractual, and commercial issues, providing expert guidance to stakeholders.
- Preparing and analyzing costings for tenders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Allocating work to subcontractors, effectively managing project timelines and resources.
- Providing advice on contractual claims, resolving disputes and ensuring fair outcomes.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders within the construction industry, fostering strong partnerships and collaborations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Minimum of 6-10 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the consulting industry.
- Professional registration is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and quantity surveying software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required, with a flexible approach to work arrangements.
