With Executive Placings, a leading Destination Management Company based in Cape Town, we are seeking an experienced Senior Cape Town Tourism Consultant to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated professional to successfully quote profitable tour products for existing and new clients. This is a hybrid role that requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of the tourism industry, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure business and effectively cost products by negotiating with suppliers for better rates and cancellation policies.
  • Quote and design successful creative itineraries and proposals that meet client needs and preferences.
  • Capture and confirm bookings in Tourplan while maintaining accurate records.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
  • Run groups, tour series, and FIT bookings smoothly, ensuring timely delivery and high customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in supplier training and workshops to stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
  • Reduce transaction turnaround time through efficient process management.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and customer care, providing excellent service to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about events, changes in suppliers, and products, making recommendations as needed.
  • Travel on educationals and familiarisation trips to expand knowledge and build relationships with suppliers.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Destination Management, with a focus on tour operations and product development.
  • Tourplan experience and proficiency in using other relevant software.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Foreign language speaking skills are advantageous but not essential.
