Job Description

Staff Solutions Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Operations Specialist to support their clients project in Kariega.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining line performance by performing basic repairs on equipment, providing technical expertise in PLC, electrical, and mechanical areas, and addressing robotic issues.

Key responsibilities include maintenance and repair, technical expertise, robotic fault resolution, fault diagnosis and optimization, PLC and network issue management, drive programming and HMI modification, stoppage investigation and documentation, safety compliance, backup and recovery, and weekend preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Issue Reporting: Identify and report any technical or engineering concerns.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Update work instructions, learning documents (KMS sheets), and procedures as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to initiatives focused on enhancing plant, machinery, and equipment efficiency.
  • Stoppage Analysis: Analyze breakdowns, particularly with equipment causing frequent downtime.
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed analysis sheets for management on breakdowns and technical concerns.
  • Operational Support: Assist with operational tasks in the designated section.
  • Shift Handover: Participate in timely shift handovers, ensuring a smooth transition for the incoming team.
  • Knowledge Management: Log significant breakdowns in the KMS to prevent reoccurrence and reduce downtime.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a National diploma in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering, Siemens PLC training, Kuka KRC4 & KRC2 training, and the ability to read electrical (E-Plan) and mechanical drawings. VASS 5 qualification is also essential.

Additional Information

This role requires VASS 5 certification, which will be completed at the Group assessment facility. Additional training will be provided in robot training modules to ensure you are fully prepared to start at the beginning of January.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is around $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. The shift pattern includes 6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6, and you will have the opportunity to undergo a six-month training period on-site.
