Senior Public Health Project Coordinator

At the Health Economics and Epidemiology Research Office, we conduct cutting-edge public health research to inform health policies and programmes in South Africa and beyond. Our work focuses on critical areas such as HIV, TB, and non-communicable diseases.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Public Health Project Coordinator to join our team of researchers working on high-impact projects that drive evidence-based decision-making. The ideal candidate will be passionate about public health, have excellent project management skills, and be able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Coordination: Provide strategic support to project leads, ensuring timely delivery of outputs and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Communication: Develop and disseminate project communications, including newsletters and social media posts, to promote our work and engage with key audiences.
- Budgeting and Planning: Collaborate with project teams to monitor budgets and develop project timelines, ensuring seamless implementation and delivery.
- Team Management: Supervise junior staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their growth and development within the team.
- Reporting: Generate monthly reports on project progress, highlighting successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
- At least 6 years of experience in project management or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences and contexts.
- Fluency in local languages (Sepedi, Setswana, Sesotho, Zulu) is highly desirable.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and professionalism at all times.
- Valid driver's license required.
