Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Leader of Governance and Compliance to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to strengthen our governance, compliance, and probity practices.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Support the formulation of our future direction and business strategy, ensuring alignment between our corporate goals and service unit delivery plans.
  • Contribute to the setting of corporate standards and ensure seamless integration with our service unit delivery plans.
  • Promote and progress a collaborative culture within the business unit and across IX Engineers, driving the overall approach to governance, compliance, and business support.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and contribute to the efficiency pipeline, fostering a commercial mindset across the team.
  • Role model our company values, creating and encouraging a culture of learning where employees can flourish, perform, and achieve.
  • This role will set the direction for IX Engineers' governance, compliance, and business support services.
Specific Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following specific job requirements:

  • Leading the Legal Team to ensure compliance with new and current legislation.
  • Ensuring secure compliance with all statutory, legal, and policy requirements arising from our activities.
  • Providing high-quality legal advice in a broad range of disciplines and applying appropriate judgment to decide which matters require legal input.
  • Drafting, revising, and supporting the negotiation of contracts, ensuring contractual terms provide compliance with relevant regulations and legislation while considering commercial factors.
  • Ensuring senior management are appraised of legal issues, including new legislation that may impact our activities and objectives.
  • Advising on the mitigation of risk, and on regulatory, compliance, data protection, and all relevant legislation.
  • Handling potential and actual disputes, in coordination with internal and external resources.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A deep understanding of governance, compliance, and business support principles.
