RPO Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Millwright to join our electrical automation business in a dynamic and supportive work environment. As a Senior Millwright, you will work independently, carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs from start to finish, handling breakdown situations with urgency and resolving faults on equipment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist the company in all technical aspects, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure smooth operations.
  • Disassemble and assemble electrical motors, including AC permanent magnet and DC motors, ensuring precise alignment and testing.
  • Remove and replace bearings, inspect bearing housings for damage, and perform pressure testing of water jackets.
  • Change mechanical seals, perform electrical windings analysis to diagnose faulty motor windings, and complete training on encoder alignment technology.
  • Carry out encoder diagnostics and testing, replacement of encoders, and encoder alignments, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Run testing of repaired motors on a VSD and test repaired VSDs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform site work to remove or install VSDs, logging labor and parts onto the job management system.
  • Provide fault diagnosis feedback to management or sales team, ensuring continuous improvement.

**Requirements:**

  • Millwright qualification or electrical and mechanical trade certification.
  • Mechanical and electrical experience with AC motors, with a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Experience with VSDs is advantageous, but not required.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail, with a mature approach to resolving workshop-related issues.
  • A strong drive to work with urgency and under pressure, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
