Wine Service Excellence

At MSC Cruises, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sommelier to join our team. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service to our guests.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Provide outstanding wine service in all restaurants, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests.
* Assist in the creation of wine menus, taking into account the diverse tastes and preferences of our guests.
* Pair wines with food, recommending wines that will complement the different styles of cuisine and methods of food preparation.
* Increase wine sales by demonstrating personal attention, applying appropriate selling techniques, and focusing on customer needs.
* Report any complaints about wine service to the Maître d'Hôtel, ensuring a fast and courteous response to guests.
* Provide wine knowledge training to dining service and bar colleagues on a regular basis.
* Oversee the inventory of wine and produce reports.

**Qualifications:**

* Fluent English, oral and written. Any additional European language is considered an advantage (Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish, and French).
* High School certificate.
* Sommelier certificate Wset level 3 or similar.
* At least 1 year experience as Sommelier in 4/5 star restaurant, hotel, or resort.
* Excellent knowledge of fine wines and premium beverages.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Passion for hospitality and customer service driven.
* Computer literacy.
* Cruise industry experience is an advantage.

**Documents Required:**

* Valid South African Passport.
* Police Clearance.
