At Armstrong Appointments, we are seeking a seasoned Renewable Energy Project Manager to lead and manage installation projects for Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and water heating solutions. This role requires quarterly travel to project locations, primarily in Tanzania, to ensure seamless execution and high-quality results throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Main Job Function

  • End-to-End Project Management: Our ideal candidate will lead projects from planning and design through to installation and commissioning, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  • Team Collaboration: The successful candidate will coordinate with engineers, contractors, suppliers, and installation teams to ensure efficient project workflows and effective communication.
  • Quality & Compliance Oversight: Implement quality assurance protocols and safety standards to ensure installations meet technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Budget & Timeline Management: Develop and oversee project budgets and schedules to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Client Relations: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, providing progress updates and managing expectations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and deliver regular reports on progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Offer expert guidance on solar PV and electrical system installations, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. PMP certification or equivalent is advantageous.

Criteria

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in project management, preferably in renewable energy or electrical installations.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of Solar PV systems, BESS, and electrical installations.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel quarterly to Tanzania and other project sites as required.
  • Language: Proficient in English; Swahili is a plus.
