About the Role

A General Nurse is required to contribute to the effective functioning of a unit at Life Healthcare Group. The successful candidate will provide safe and quality patient care in accordance with the company's standards, policies, and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care: Provide excellent holistic clinical care to promote safe clinical outcomes, including identifying training needs and ensuring staff undergo department-specific micro orientation.
  • Patient Management: Conduct daily care rounds and implement appropriate clinical care plans, promoting effective record-keeping practices among all staff members.
  • Risk Management: Implement preventative measures to minimize risk through compliance with Health, Safety & Infection Control policies and procedures, promoting patient and staff health and wellbeing.
  • Communication: Ensure accurate, appropriate, and adequate information is communicated with patients and family members, maintaining sound professional relationships with all stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Nursing experience in medical, surgical, and/or Paediatric wards.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Strong leadership skills, including effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
  • Contemporaneous knowledge of relevant legislation, industrial relations, standards, codes, ethics, and competency standards.
  • Flexibility towards working hours/shifts.
  • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
