We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Mental Health Officer to join our team at the Central University of Technology, Free State. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional mental health services to our students and staff.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for developing policies and procedures to ensure that our Academic Support Services are compliant with legislation and our university's requirements. This will involve representing our Wellness Centre and working closely with internal and external service providers to establish strategic partnerships and agreements.
You will also oversee and provide workshops and wellness projects, compile and submit reports, and manage the performance and development of staff in your sub-unit. Additionally, you will provide counselling services, manage general wellness services, and monitor staff performance.
RequirementsTo be considered for this position, you must have a Master's degree in psychology with HPCSA registration as a Counselling Psychologist. You should have at least three years' experience in providing student services in a higher education or similar environment, as well as registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
You should possess knowledge of relevant medical legislation and ethical codes, as well as understanding of key Higher Education Institutional Systems and Structures. A strong background in project management and report writing is essential, along with proficiency in Excel and Word.
Bachelor's degree holders may be considered if they have significant experience in mental health services. A PhD in Counselling Psychology would be an advantage.
