About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our team at Arvo. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing finance staff and reporting to the Head of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all month-end closing activities, including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and overhead cost allocation.
  • Prepare Management accounts, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance.
  • Manage the day-to-day accounting activities.
  • Prepare financial reports.
  • Responsibility for VAT / EMP 201 returns and other statutory/regulatory submissions.
  • Assist with the development of financial controls, financial policies, procedures, and guidelines, risk assessment, and management to ensure that financial risks are identified and addressed.
  • Prepare and review monthly payroll calculations and other ad-hoc duties as required.
  • Prepare annual audit documentation for an external audit firm, including closing off, and liaising with auditors.
  • Assist with preparing capital raise documentation/due diligence.
  • Manage and oversee junior staff members, including training, mentoring, and development of staff.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years Financial Management or 5+ years Senior Financial Accountant experience.
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office (Excel, etc.), accounting software, and databases.
  • Relevant financial qualifications.
  • SAIPA qualification or completed SAICA articles will be beneficial.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in a hospitality or property background.
  • Based in Cape Town (the role is an office job).
