We are seeking an experienced Energy Application Engineer to join our team at Watershed Consulting. This is a key role within the Business Development Division, combining Commercial and Technical responsibilities.

The position will report to the Technical Manager and will be responsible for developing the company's Energy Services & Management portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy efficiency measures, utilities implementation, and engineering design.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop a growth strategy focused on financial gain and customer satisfaction through business development initiatives.
  • Drive sustainable financial growth by increasing energy-related sales and building strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Establish partnerships with product suppliers to expand market presence.
  • Provide commercial and technical support using knowledge of factory utility operations.
  • Design cost-effective solutions ensuring technical compliance with client requirements.
  • Conduct plant audits to develop energy management value propositions and manage design components for engineering studies.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize operations for O&M contracts involving energy management.
  • Prepare designs and technical proposals for engineering studies and industrial tenders.
  • Collaborate with Tendering teams to ensure proposal profitability and sustainability.
  • Manage all clients, sales, leads, and opportunities within the designated CRM system.

**Requirements & Competence:

  • Bachelor's degree in Process, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Ideal fluency in Afrikaans, English, and other languages.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Design, Industrial, or Production Engineer.
  • Prior experience focusing on Utilities (Boilers, Cooling Towers, Chillers etc) and implementation of general Energy Saving Measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Advantageous: ECSA Registration and understanding of Waste to Energy Technologies.

**Salary:** Estimated salary range for this position is R750,000 - R1,000,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
