The Specialist: Operational Due Diligence and Risk Analyst at STANLIB is responsible for managing day-to-day Alternative Operations and Operational Due Diligence activities of the business.
This includes:
- Executing specialised work to improve quality, standards, and outputs within defined work routines and operating procedures.
- Proactively solving problems, determining root causes, and applying solutions in line with guidelines.
- Planning for task execution and advising on improvements related to the area of specialisation.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of risk management principles and be able to apply them in a real-world context.
Responsibilities- Create detailed on-site due diligence plans to cover specific risk areas identified.
- Identify areas of risk and concern and liaise with asset managers to provide additional supporting documentation.
- Compile and complete a detailed risk matrix according to the ranking methodology used to classify risks.
- Formulate a detailed Client Risk Management Plan for corrective actions to be monitored on an ongoing basis.
- Manage internal Vendor Management Frameworks, including measuring SLA deliverables and relevant MIS reporting on vendor performance.
- Ensure accurate and timeous trade implementation on Charles River for internal Alternative funds on the Liberty Balance sheet.
- Oversight of Off-Balance sheet Alternative funds, including external Mancos and administrators for the funds, and signing off monthly NAVs.
- Follow up on all FX confirmations dealt by Trade Processing teams and accurately record FX details on FX registers.
- Continuously update Risk Registers for all operational business processes and perform quarterly self-assessments to ensure all risks are identified and adequate controls are in place.
