Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Quality Assurance Program/System, incorporating food safety requirements within Meat Markets.
  • Source, service, and calibrate quality control instruments and equipment.
  • Manage internal and external laboratory processes to ensure compliance.
  • Establish Service Level Agreements for external service providers.
  • Stay up-to-date with new regulations, laws, standards, and official enactments applicable to the meat plant.
  • Provide guidance on microbiological controls within the Meat Plants.
  • Oversee quality control aspects of raw materials and finished products.
  • Monitor production control functions to ensure adherence to SOPs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field is essential.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality Assurance management within a MEAT PLANT / FRESH MEAT PRODUCE OR SIMILAR environment.
  • Proven understanding of end-to-end meat production operations.
  • HACCP certification.
  • ISO Standards – FSSC knowledge.
  • Strong MS Office skills with expertise in Excel.
  • Project Management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to navigate large running projects.
  • The ability to consistently learn and develop further in a world-class environment.
