About the Role

This role is responsible for managing all process engineering, process safety management, and assigned capex projects for our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of system safety and hazard identification and risk analysis processes (HIRA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and improving process engineering performance
  • Effective management of capital expenditure projects
  • Maintaining and improving process safety
  • Developing and driving the implementation of process safety strategies and action plans addressing process safety risks and process safety management system maturity;
  • Overall implementation, monitoring, reporting, sustaining, and building upon the site's existing process safety management system (practices, metrics)
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BSc Chemical Engineering degree
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in process safety engineering in a high-paced chemical manufacturing environment
  • Experience in batch processing reaction chemistry environments will be an advantage
  • Strong understanding of system safety and hazard identification and risk analysis processes (HIRA)
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, process safety, policies, procedures, OHS Act, and other relevant legislation
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of R1,200,000 - R1,800,000 per annum, depending on experience. Other benefits include:
