Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a sustainable book of business within the markets of Sub-Saharan Africa, assessing risks, evaluating reinsurance terms and conditions, and ensuring profitability.
  2. Drive and shape the portfolio according to applicable targets and client strategies.
  3. Build senior relationships with clients and brokers to develop new business opportunities.
  4. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
  5. Collaborate with Treaty Underwriters to provide advice.
  6. Organize seminars and workshops to provide value-added services to clients.
  7. Conduct surveys of large/complex engineering risks and prepare internal and external reports.
  8. Analyze portfolio performance and market trends.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, plus 5 years of practical experience.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in Engineering (re)insurance with sound technical underwriting abilities.
  • Familiarity with French language is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and passion for conducting business in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Capabilities to solicit and conduct business opportunities.
