We are seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator to support Donation Testing in all areas of Quality and Projects. The successful candidate will ensure accreditation is maintained and projects completed effectively and timeously.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain an effective storage and retrieval system for plasma packs and prospective samples, ensuring the plasma repository database is up-to-date within agreed timelines.
  2. Record all relevant information on the system within specified deadlines.
  3. Strive to prevent contamination by adhering to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines.
  4. Sort and aliquot viral positive packs within designated timeframes from receipt.
  5. Send samples to external reference laboratories for miscellaneous tests within agreed timelines.
  6. Receive and verify invoices for external testing.
  7. Receive miscellaneous, follow up, and retest samples, locate required tests in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and distribute to relevant sections for testing.
  8. Maintain daily traceability records of all material entering and leaving the repository.
  9. Prepare and package positive materials for shipment to other institutions according to IATA/WHO packing instructions.
  10. Receive lookback plasma, inspect, and send for relevant testing, update the database, and transmit results to the Medical Division.
  11. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory maintenance as scheduled.
  12. Document and dispose of samples, used reagents, and waste material in accordance with prescribed safety regulations.
