Hire Resolve's client is a prominent packaging organization located in the Western Cape. They are currently in search of a Logistics Warehouse Supervisor to manage their packaging warehouse operations on a temporary contract. The Warehouse Supervisor will be tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the warehouse, which include inventory oversight, shipping and receiving, as well as order processing. The ideal candidate should possess prior experience in warehouse supervision within the packaging sector and have a solid grasp of warehouse procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Outbound Dispatch: Oversee the dispatch department to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Inbound Receiving & Storage: Manage the receiving department, focusing on supplier quality control, data management, labeling, secure packing, and storage.
  • Internal Stock Transfers: Coordinate all internal stock transfer needs between various warehouses.
  • Returns and Credit Notes: Ensure proper internal procedures for handling returned stock and credit notes.
  • Internal Damaged Stock: Address escalations and resolutions related to damaged stock and factory faults.
  • Inventory Management: Lead all stock counting activities for the warehouse, ensuring no losses occur.
  • Stock Level Oversight: Monitor stock and consumable levels, and escalate procurement needs for replenishment.
  • Collaboration with Production: Work closely with production and sales teams regarding orders and fulfillment.
  • Third-Party Relationships: Maintain strong and mutually beneficial partnerships with all service providers.
  • Customer Service: Handle all internal and external inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
  • Inventory Documentation: Manage all data entry and document generation related to inventory.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant safety and risk management policies within the workplace.
  • Asset Oversight: Safeguard and verify that all assets are accounted for and properly stored.
  • Record Management: Oversee the organization and storage of all documentation.
  • Security Management: Supervise relevant security measures and systems as necessary.
  • Payroll Administration: Manage leave, payment reconciliations for temporary staff, and contract management.
  • Team Performance Monitoring: Actively assess team performance through daily output oversight.
  • Training Coordination: Monitor and facilitate team training requirements.
  • HR Management: Address all team HR-related matters with support from HR.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure that team operations comply with all established policies and procedures.
  • Monthly Reporting: Submit reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Matric, along with at least 2 years of demonstrated experience in a similar warehouse supervisory role.
  • A qualification in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Proven experience in a warehouse operations setting, particularly in food packaging.
  • Demonstrated capability in executing warehouse operational functions and processes.
  • Strong customer service skills in dispatch and service environments.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and couriers in a logistics context.
  • Exceptional coordination and administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong professional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Effective team management skills, including directing, delegating, developing, and disciplining staff as necessary.
  • Able to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving skills and experience in conflict resolution are essential.
  • Familiarity with WMS, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office is required.
  • Effective communication across various channels is necessary.
  • Understanding of efficiency, workload, and workflow is important.
  • Willingness to engage in a temporary contract.
